Ministry: Red and Gray FCA
Role: Campus Missionary
Mission Statement
The goal of our local FCA huddle at MACC is to provide encouragement and support while sharing the hope of the gospel in love to students who are attending MACC.
Tell us about your journey to becoming a Campus Missionary:
A few years ago, Christie and I saw a great need to minister to college students in our community. Christie started working on campus at MACC and sees several students each day as an academic advisor. MACC added a new baseball and softball program just two years ago, so we began building relationships with the athletic coaches and volunteering to serve whenever a team had a need. We encouraged a few students to petition the dean to start a local Fellowship of Christian Athletes huddle on campus. In the Fall of 2022, the college approved this new club and gave us permission to meet on campus. Our collegiate group of athletes and non-athletes meets weekly during the Fall and Spring semesters for fellowship, student led worship, and a gospel centered message. Through this we have had numerous gospel conversations and developed several discipling relationships with students and coaches.
What do you love about doing ministry on your campus?
I love working with college students because they have freedom to get involved. College students are adults, and they don't require parental permission or constant supervision. Most college students are hungry to know about God, are curious about spiritual things, and have a heart to serve others. I love building relationships with students and equipping them to lead.

Tell us about yourself and your family:
I have been working in student ministry for over 25 years. I have a heart to reach the next generation and equip them to lead. I want to be a part of or be able to witness another great awakening among young people. I grew up in a rural part of SW Ohio and I'm a huge Buckeyes, Cincinati Reds, and Bengals fan. I married my college sweetheart, Christie, in 1997. We met while serving in a BSU ministry at our college in Kentucky (Cumberlands). Christie grew up in East Tennessee. She loves vacationing at the beach, but most of all she enjoys spending quality time with family and friends. We are proud parents of two adult children, Peyton and Kayla, who are both actively following Jesus and serving others. Our family moved to Missouri from Ohio in 2013 for ministry and love being in the (true) Midwest.
What do you hope to see happen on your campus/within your ministry in the next few years?
Our desire is to see God transform lives. We are anticipating decisions to follow Jesus and would love to see students baptized while they attended MACC. Each year we hope to develop leaders who will help to reach the next group of students.
What are some of the things your ministry does?
Our ministry meets weekly in Area 27 (Moberly Campus Cafeteria) on Monday night at 7pm. Outside of this we pick up students for a college Sunday School class and worship at our church. We often invite students to have Sunday lunch after morning worship in our home. We attend athletic events together. We regularly pass out cold drinks at the first week of practice for the athletic teams. Athletic teams are encouraged to have their own team huddle (small group Bible studies) during the week, often student led. Christie and I also are available to have coffee or lunch with students to have spiritual conversations. We regularly invite students into discipling/mentoring relationships that meet regularly. We get together with our students for other activities like ice skating, corn maze, and concerts. Our students also serve others in our community at foster care respite nights and helped build a Casas Por Cristo home in Mexico.
