Campus Missionary
Mission Statement:
The mission of the BSU at Three Rivers college is to be a place where students can come to seek God. We want to help shape their understanding of God and develop their spiritual maturity. The BSU wishes to send students out into the world with a deeper understanding of who God is and how they fit into His plan.
Tell us about your journey to becoming a Campus Missionary:
My journey into college ministry started in 2017 when my wife was asked if she would be interested in leading a college-age Bible study. She and I realized it was time to stop collecting knowledge and start pouring into others' lives. We were not sure what to expect at first; we just knew we needed to be faithful to God’s calling. We fell in love with working with students and have been actively doing so ever since. We've been at Three Rivers since 2019.
What do you love about doing ministry on your campus?
Although I am still new to the campus, I love the encouragement I have received from faculty and the eclectic group of students from all walks of life. I am also fortunate that the BSU is located on the college campus!
Tell us about yourself and your family:
My wife, Diana, and I have been married since 2014. We both enjoy playing board games and hosting community building get-togethers. Our passion is to see believers wrestle with their faith and move past surface level Christianity. We know that only God’s word can do this and continually push people to read and know their bibles. We enjoy kayaking and hiking. I enjoy a variety of activities which are greatly varied. We also love our dog Max.
What do you hope to see happen on your campus/within your ministry in the next few years?
My hope is to continue to build a strong bond with the campus faculty and staff. God has placed me in a unique situation where the BSU is the only collegiate ministry on the campus. My goal for the next few years is to reestablish the BSU as a safe place on campus for all students to come and learn about God and to display the glory and assurance of God to a generation who is constantly being told nothing is definite.
What are some of the things your ministry does?
The BSU hosts a free dinner for students every Monday evening and weekly gatherings on Wednesday afternoons.
