Summer Missionary 2023

Zoe Watts

Where do you currently attend school? Lee’s Summit High School
Where are you serving this summer, and who is your mentor?
Connection Point Church in Kansas City with Carmen Kraus
How did you first encounter Jesus Christ, and how has His lordship continued to change your life?
I was raised in the church, but I came to a point when I realized I was living my own life in sin. When I was eleven years old, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, receiving His forgiveness and grace. From that point on, I was involved in multiple ministries. Now in my daily walk I do devotions which include reading the Bible and praying. Now I am finishing up high school, and I feel led to serve, learn, and grow in my faith as I seek the Lord’s will in my next stage of life.
What does the church mean to you?
The church for me is somewhere I can gather with my friends and family where I can worship and somewhere I can draw closer to the Lord.
As a student, how have you shared – and are currently sharing – your faith with others?
As a student I do share my faith. I always take the opportunity to share my faith on mission trips when it comes up. I also share my faith in my discipleship group. If the opportunity does come up with my friends I am always open to share my faith with them.
What do you feel is your vocational call (future career), and how do you anticipate sharing your faith through that call?
I believe my calling is with kids. I currently enjoy serving in the kids ministry at my church where I get the opportunity to teach the bible and share my faith with the children and parents at my church on a regular basses.
Why do you want to be a summer missionary?
The reason why I was to be a summer missionary is because missions is a big thing in my family and in my church already. With my family my dad has served on mission trips before, and my sister is currently a missionary in Cambodia. Also I love to go on and help with missions. It has already been a big thing in my life and I want it to become apart of my life.
