Tell us about your journey to becoming a Campus Missionary:
After becoming a Christian my senior year of college at Northwest Missouri State University, I had an immediate desire to tell others about Christ and what He has done for me. That grew into an undeniable call to share Christ with others, so after I finished graduate school I began working at the Northwest BSU as an Associate Director. After that I knew I needed more theological training so I went to Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary to prepare myself for the ministry that God was calling me to do. After graduation and a few closed doors, God brought my family and I to SEMO in 2018 where I am currently serving as a Campus Missionary and Director of the Lighthouse BCM.

What do you love about doing ministry on your campus?
The greatest part of the work I get to do at SEMO is that I have the opportunity to share the gospel with students from every walk of life. This means that my work is primarily relationship focused and relationships are the forge in which discipleship is fashioned. Being able to pour the truth of Christ into as many students as possible and train our students to be disciples that make disciples is the greatest privilege that I have as a Campus Missionary.

I have been married to an amazing and godly wife, Lisa, since 2014. We have three young sons who are a wonderful blessing to us as parents. I have 6 siblings and I grew up on a cattle farm north of Kansas City. I really enjoy reading and I'm a gamer by nature. I love any type of competition. I find great enjoyment in the great outdoors and some of my most relaxing moments are found behind the string of a bow.

What do you hope to see happen on your campus/within your ministry in the next few years?
The primary thing that I pray and strive for at Southeast Missouri State is for a God-wrought work in the minds of our students to see Jesus as the greatest joy and treasure of their life. This is my personal life-long ministry goal, wherever I may be. Secondly, I pray that this understanding of Jesus will be the Spirit-empowered catalyst for a true, biblical disciple-making movement that would start at SEMO and go to the ends of the Earth.

Every Monday we have our free dinner for students that is brought in by local churches that support and serve our ministry. On Thursdays we have our regular worship and teaching. Throughout the week we have our Life Groups, which are our main discipleship vehicles within our ministry and the primary focus of how we make disciples. We also have many different connections and outreach events throughout the school year along with our annual Welcome Week events that help us connect with new and returning students.
