Ministry: Central BSU
Campus Missionary
Mission Statement:
Transforming the campus with the gospel and love of Jesus.
Tell us about your journey to becoming a Campus Missionary:
During the early part of my freshman year in college, I became connected with the BSU after some friends invited me to a weekly free lunch that the ministry sponsored. It was through my involvement in the BSU that I not only made lifelong friends but became connected to a local church, learned what it meant to be a follower of Jesus, and was mentored by an upperclassman. The impact made on me was huge. I think God used those things to call me into collegiate ministry myself, giving me an opportunity to lead others in making that kind of impact.
What do you love about doing ministry on your campus?
I love the whole campus atmosphere; the energy, the silliness, the seriousness, and the drive college students have. I love the fact that they want to change the world in so many different ways.
Tell us about yourself and your family:
Andrea and I have been married for 29 years and have three children that live in different parts of the world. We love coffee and are huge Pittsburgh Steeler and Penguin fans.
What do you hope to see happen on your campus/within your ministry in the next few years?
We want to be a place where disciples are made and sent throughout the world to be a part of building the kingdom of God.
What are some of the things your ministry does?
We focus on gospel appointments as a means of sharing the gospel as well as focusing on Scripture, prayer, fellowship, and the breaking of bread (eating meals together) to encourage growth and unity among those involved in the BSU and the local church.
