Marshall, MO—MBCollegiate ministries aren’t just impacting college students but campus faculty & staff as well. On August 4, Liz Gonzalez, a woman who works in the admissions office, followed Jesus in obedience by getting baptized at Relevant Church in MarshallThe Bridge Campus Missionary Marita Avilez says,

“When Liz first came to Marshall, she started working at Starbucks in the Student Center at MVC. Through her job, she got to know several Brazilian students that are involved with The Bridge and have a Portuguese Bible study weekly. Although Liz does not speak Portuguese, these friendships drew her in and she started attending (And they started translating for her and a couple other English speaking students that started attending.) Hailey Miller, one of our student leaders at The Bridge, has become very close friends with her. During the summer we hosted dinner and a Bible study at our house. Hailey invited. Liz to come with her. She attended all through the summer as well as attending FBC Slater regularly. She even helped with Vacation Bible School for the first time ever. One week at FBC Slater, she noticed the baptistry and ask Pastor Paul what it was for. He explained to her what baptism was and she shared that she had given her life to Christ and that she wanted to be baptized to share that with others! I am so amazed and grateful for our students who are living out their faith all over campus and affecting not only their peers, but also the staff at MVC!
