Bridge Mizzou spring break March 2025

Mizzou Students Equip, Serve, and Share Gospel

Home/Stories / Mizzou Students Equip, Serve, and Share Gospel

The month of March was full of opportunities for Mizzou students with The Bridge Collegiate to grow in evangelism and discipleship, serve local churches, and equip others to do the same! This rest of this post is written by Scott Westfall, Campus Missionary of The Bridge Collegiate at Mizzou.

DNOW

In March, The Bridge students served at two DNOW weekends, witnessing 15 salvations and equipping students for evangelism.

Booneville, Arkansas: 13 Lives Transformed

During our first DNOW, students were trained in evangelism and sent door-to-door sharing the gospel. 13 people accepted Christ, including two adults led to faith by high school students trained by our team. Seeing young people confidently share their faith and lead others to Christ was an incredible testament to God’s power.

FBC Centralia: More Lives Changed

The following weekend at FBC Centralia, two more individuals gave their lives to Christ. Students deepened their faith, embraced discipleship, and stepped out in obedience to the Great Commission.

Why This Matters

These DNOW weekends weren’t just events—they were proof that young people are capable of bold evangelism and real Kingdom impact. At The Bridge, we are committed to raising disciple-makers who don’t just attend church but actively share their faith.

Hosting Oklahomians

This past month, we had the privilege of hosting a church from Oklahoma that joined us on campus to help with outreach. Their team stepped in with eagerness, serving alongside us in tabling, the Pray Chair, and prayer walking, all while learning how to engage students in meaningful gospel conversations. Throughout the day, they prayed with nearly 20 students and shared the gospel 21 times—a powerful reminder that college students are searching for truth and hope. Seeing their team step out in faith to pray with and minister to students was an encouragement to us all.

Not only did they come to serve, but they also came to learn. We were able to train and equip them in the outreach strategies we use week in and week out, helping them grow in confidence to share their faith beyond this trip. We are grateful for their partnership and for the opportunity to invest in another church while reaching our campus for Christ. God is moving, and we’re honored to be part of His work!

Spring Break Mission Trip

Over spring break, 20 Bridge students traveled to New Orleans to serve through a program called Mission Lab, staying at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and partnering with Metairie Baptist Church for ministry.

Serving the Church, Reaching the City

Our team jumped into action, helping with church maintenance and distributing 2,000 Easter invitations throughout the community. More importantly, we prayed with 30 people, had 35 Spiritual conversations, and shared the gospel 20 times. What stood out was how few people walked away—only 20 of those we engaged chose not to continue the conversation, a powerful reminder that people are open to hearing about Jesus.

Beyond our work in Metairie, we also went downtown to engage in prayer and gospel conversations with those we met. One of the most encouraging moments of the trip was seeing our students continue witnessing even on the way home—sharing Christ at gas stations and during meal stops.

Our speaker for the weekend, Greg Wilton, left us with a challenge that stuck with everyone:

“You don’t have to go out of your way to witness; you can just make witnessing your way.”

Greg Wilton

This trip reinforced that evangelism isn’t an event—it’s a lifestyle. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve in New Orleans, and we’re even more excited to bring this mindset back to Mizzou!
