Ministry: Missio Dei
Mission Statement:
To multiply disciples of Jesus among college students in Columbia.
Tell us about your journey to becoming a Campus Missionary:
I've been involved in ministry to students in a variety of settings for about 15 years. But in 2015, I sensed the Lord leading me to a more specific role in collegiate ministry. Since my days as a student at Mizzou, my heart has been burdened for that campus. So, in the summer of 2016, my family and I moved to Columbia to give our lives as missionaries to the campus and community.
What do you love about doing ministry on your campus?
I love getting to help students grow in knowing and loving Jesus. I love seeing Him give students a vision for their lives - a vision for walking out the Great Commission in their everyday lives regardless of their future job title, or family status, or geographic location.

Tell us about yourself and your family:
I've been blessed to call Angela my bride since November 2004. We have four kiddos that keep us on our toes - Micah, Avery, Ella, and Leah. I am a pretty big fan of coffee enjoy most sports, and really like to build things. Since the summer of 2016 we've been living in our own version of Fixer Upper. My current project is a big playhouse in our backyard for our kids.
What do you hope to see happen on your campus/within your ministry in the next few years?
We envision a day when the campuses in Columbia are saturated with the gospel through students giving tangible, daily expression of the gospel in word and deed.
What are some of the things your ministry does?
Missio Dei is a ministry of the Missouri Baptist Convention and much of our work is currently rooted in Karis Church here in Columbia. We have missional communities (small groups) that meet both on-campus and in the community, discipleship groups where students can learn how to be and make disciples, service opportunities in the community, meals and fellowship on campus, a Fall Retreat, Spring Break mission trips, and more! We think connection to the local church is really important, and we encourage our students to worship with us on Sundays at Karis Church gatherings and also to get involved in other opportunities Karis provides throughout the school year.
