Ministry: BSU OTC Richwood Valley
Mission Statement:
Our community's sole purpose is saturating the campus with the gospel. We disciple students to disciple others and train them as missionaries to take the gospel to Springfield and beyond. Through authentic and intentional relationships, our hope is to see students on the campuses of Springfield transformed to be intense followers of Jesus! We are in need of students who are willing to engage the mission field with the gospel even at the cost of our traditions.
Tell us about your journey to becoming a Campus Missionary:
I felt called to campus ministry when I first returned to college as a student in 2016. I realized right away that college life for the Christian is very different than it was when I was first a college student. The challenges for today’s Christian student are much greater. It made sense for me to work at OTC Richwood Valley as this is where I returned as both a student and a tutor.
What do you love about doing ministry on your campus?
The greatest aspect of campus ministry is the relational aspect both with Christians and non- Christians on campus. It is a great privilege to be invited into the lives of the students.

Tell us about yourself and your family:
My wife, Kaye, is my partner in ministry both on and off campus. We have been married since 2005. Much of our ministry takes place in our home. Not only is Kaye my partner, but she is also a recent college graduate from OTC and MSU who now teaches FACS at Glendale in Springfield.
What do you hope to see happen on your campus/within your ministry in the next few years?
One of our greatest desires is that we will raise up leaders among the students who will take over this ministry themselves in the next few years. We want to raise up student leaders who will in turn raise up student leaders.
What are some of the things your ministry does?
One of our goals is to extend the ministry of the BSU off campus. To do this we are continually seeking service projects where our students can have an impact and build relationships with both Christians and non Christians in their community.
