One Year Complete at Missouri Valley Collegiate!

MBCollegiate Campus Missionary Scott Westfall just completed his first year with us at Missouri Valley Collegiate Ministry. Here’s an update he sent out recently. We praise God for Scott’s faithful work at MoVal!

As I am typing this update I have been thinking about this past year and the years to come.  I read through last year’s mission plan that I had filled out for the Missouri Baptist Convention and much of it said, “I don’t know, I just started.”  This year I was able to write a more comprehensive plan, I hope.   Who knows with all the COVID stuff.

Last year I remember how nervous I was.  I knew practically no one, I had almost no budget, no official place to meet, and the churches and campus seemed skeptical of me.  I was met with questions about who I was, what I wanted, and doubt that any kids would come.  I also had people who encouraged me, partnered with me, and helped make a path to ministry.

What God did last year was nothing short of amazing.  We went from nothing to having a thriving ministry in what seemed to be overnight.  We averaged about 25-35 students in weekly service and small groups, started a worship team (I was not even planning to have music), went on three retreats, three mission trips, and partnered with other ministries off and on campus. We fed A LOT of students. We saw salvation, calls to ministry and missions and were able to share the Gospel for the first time with many students from all over the world.

This year we are planning to grow more disciples through weekly services, small groups, and missions. We plan to feed many more students and have three new mission trips planned for the year.
